Summer 2020 - Development and construction at Lindsay Ranch began with the purchase of the raw land.
Autumn 2020 - A few months after the land closing, we contacted a local fencing contractor and began the process of clearing, layout and installation of the perimeter fencing followed over the next several months by cross fencing.
Spring 2021 - Well (no pun intended) if you're going to have a ranch you need to have water and so began the challenge of getting a well drilled. After contacting several well drilling outfits and still not having a well we had to have water hauled in from an hour away by Eddie at Turquoise Water, Fortunately Eddie referred us to Rick at

After contacting several well drilling outfits and still not having a well we had to have water hauled in from an hour away by Eddie at Turquoise Water, Fortunately Eddie referred us to Rick at Aquadrill and within a couple of weeks we were on the books to have a well drilled and just a few months later we finally had a complete water system.
Autumn of 2021 - We picked out a home for the ranch which after much work installing utilities (electric, septic, etc.) and many challenges and pitfalls along the way it was finally finished and ready to occupy in the summer of 2022 (2 months behind schedule due to procurement issues).
Our original plan was to raise Boer goats but then one fateful evening my wife and I were watching a longhorn cattle sale at the Fort Worth Stockyards and she asked "how do we get into longhorns"? I think we both knew at that moment that this was the direction we needed to go in.

So, in addition to our starter herd of goats we were jumping feet first into the Registered Texas Longhorn Cattle business. It didn't take long for us to realize that we preferred our longhorns to the goats and so we made the transition to raising Registered Texas Longhorn Cattle. We have no regrets other than possibly not doing it sooner.

Here we are at just over two years since purchasing our property and beginning construction on our ranch and we are more committed and passionate today than we have ever been.
We have been absolutely blessed with a starter herd of premier cows, heifers and a phenomenal young bull who have outstanding pedigrees going back to such greats as Cowboy Tuff Chex, Mutual Fund, M Arrow Dazzler, SR Clout 466 and more.
When I was looking to purchase our bull, I had the opportunity to ask his owner what the secret to his successful Longhorn program is (he has what is considered the top breeding program in the nation), He quickly replied without hesitation that it is all about the pedigrees, it comes down to the genetics of the animals.
At Lindsay Ranch our goal is very focused, producing premier longhorn cattle through a very selective, intentional and strategic breeding program, period.
